Description

The Star NG (Next Generation) is an S-band air traffic control (ATC) radar developed by Thales in France, designed for approach control. Operating within the 2,700 to 2,900 MHz frequency range, it offers instrumented ranges of 60, 80, or 100 nautical miles with a range resolution of less than 50 meters, utilizing a 1.4° beamwidth and antenna rotation speeds of 10, 12, or 15 revolutions per minute. This evolution of the STAR 2000 is engineered to meet both civil and military requirements, featuring advanced capabilities such as complete mitigation of wind farm effects, resistance to 4G/LTE mobile phone interference, anti-jamming functions, and the ability to provide altimetry and weather information.
