Description
The ARS is a ground surveillance radar operating in the M-band at 77 GHz, designed for very short-range, high-resolution surveillance at airfields. It employs Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) radar technology, utilizing circuitry similar to automotive radars, to enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency for security and airfield personnel. The system has an instrumented range of 1,600 meters, a range resolution of 25 centimeters, a beamwidth of 1 degree, and an antenna rotation speed of 36 revolutions per minute. It can be integrated with an infrared-sensitive slew-to-cue camera.
