Description

The 1L277 "Sobolyatnik" (Cyrillic: 1Л277 «Соболятник», English: "Theophant") is a J-band, solid-state, ground surveillance radar designed for short-range battlefield applications. It can locate moving and stationary targets, including personnel, vehicles, and vessels, in all weather conditions, day or night, with an instrumented range of 20 km and a range resolution of 10 m. The radar features automatic data transmission, can adjust artillery fire, and detects low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles, tracking up to 20 targets with automatic moving target recognition. As Russia's first series-produced portable radar utilizing a phased array, it scans an adjustable sector from 60 to 120 degrees and an elevation angle of 18° without mechanical antenna movement, displaying information on a color screen. Operating with radiated power less than a cell phone, the 1L277 ensures high operational secrecy and immunity to electronic countermeasures through rapid frequency tuning, which hinders detection and prevents jamming.
