Description

The TIGAR (TSS Integrated Ground-Based Air Radar) is a mobile 3D tactical air surveillance radar operating in the S-band (2,900–3,100 MHz), also known as the E/F band by NATO. This system is a modernized and cost-effective upgrade of the AN/TPS-43 radar, featuring replacements of critical electrical and mechanical components on the antenna pedestal and transmitter's power amplifier, along with new operator touch consoles. Further enhancements include upgrades to the radar processor, power distribution, IFF interrogator, radar signal generator, and ADS-B receiver, bringing its capabilities in line with newer systems like the AN/TPS-70 and AN/TPS-75. The TIGAR has an instrumented range of 445 km (240 NM) and has been customized for the Ecuadorian Air Force.
