Description

The YJ-17 is a hypersonic glider vehicle first publicly displayed at the Chinese military parade in September 2025. The system features a characteristic flattened forward body mounted on top of a large first-stage booster. Analysis (Naval News, Sep 2025): The configuration plausibly allows launch from Universal Vertical Launch System (UVLS) cells. Submarine VLS launch remains a notional possibility.
