Description
The Leonardo RAN 21S is an Italian-made S-band (IEEE designation) or E-band (NATO designation) 2D medium-range naval surveillance radar. Operating with a peak power of 19 kW and an instrumented range of 65 nautical miles (120 km), it is designed for installation on medium-sized warships. The system is capable of detecting air and surface targets, including low-flying aircraft and missiles, and features a mechanically stabilized antenna for roll and pitch compensation, with rotation speeds of 15 or 30 revolutions per minute.
