Description

The Maars is a C-band (5.2–5.8 GHz) multimode naval acquisition radar designed for surveillance and weapon assignment, with an instrumented range of 200 km. It automatically detects, initiates tracks, and tracks both surface and air targets, utilizing a 1.6° beamwidth and antenna rotation speeds of 12, 30, or 60 revolutions per minute. Its modular design and flexible communication interfaces allow for easy adaptation to specific customer requirements and integration with combat systems or track management systems. The system employs multi-beam scanning strategies, making it suitable for standalone use on corvettes, patrol vessels, minesweepers, and mine-hunters, or as a self-defense radar on frigates, particularly for detecting sea-skimming targets and assigning them to close-in weapon systems.
