Description
The RTS 6400 is a naval combined radar and optronics tracking system operating in the X-band (IEEE designation) or I/J-band (NATO designation). It can detect and track a fighter aircraft at ranges exceeding 38 km and a missile at over 21 km, with an instrumented range of 60 km (32 NM). The system features an Offset-Gregorian antenna and a traveling-wave tube transmitter. Eight RTS 6400 systems have been commissioned into service with the South African Navy's Valour Class Frigate combat suite.
