Description

The RQ-30 is an experimental, unattended hydrological measuring radar designed for flow measurement in flowing waters. Operating in the K-band (24 to 24.25 GHz), the system achieves an accuracy of 1 mm over an instrumented range of 15 meters, optionally extendable to 35 meters. It comprises two radar units: one transmits vertically to measure distance, while the second is angled to measure Doppler frequencies, from which flow velocity is calculated. This non-contact measurement method enhances the system's resilience against damage from debris and flotsam.
