HK-JM2
The HK-JM2 is a long-range 2D surveillance radar operating in the VHF band (IEEE designation) or A band (NATO designation), with an instrumented range of 270 nautical miles (500 km). Unveiled at the 2012 Zhuhai Airshow, it serves for early warning in national air defense and provides target designation for weapon systems. This fully coherent system features a semiconductor-based transmitter, pulse compression for enhanced stealth target detection, and robust anti-jamming capabilities. Its compact antenna, comprising four layers of ten Yagi antennas in front of a grid reflector and two compensating antennas for side lobe suppression, can be automatically folded for transport. In addition to its land-based configuration, a sea-based version is installed on modernized Chinese Type 052DL destroyers, replacing the older Type 517M radar.
