Description
The GWSR is an X-band (9,410 MHz) naval radar system that utilizes a specialized magnetron and operates as a coherent-on-receive sensor for the FutureWaves™ system. It is designed for detailed sea state measurements and forecasting of vessel motion response to waves. The radar employs a 1.25-meter end-fed waveguide slot antenna with vertical polarization, producing a fan beam pattern. With a high pulse repetition frequency of 2,100 Hz and a pulsewidth of 50 ns, the GWSR excels in velocity measurement, achieving a Doppler frequency resolution of 2 Hz, an instrumented range of 5 km, and a range resolution of 7.5 meters.
